Stalybridge Celtic Juniors Girls Super Cup

Twelve months after launching girls football at the grassroots club, Stalybridge Celtic Juniors held their inaugural girls tournament on Sunday 16 June.

In the under 9s division Celtic welcomed Denton Youth and Corpus ROCs. All the girls played brilliantly and Stalybridge Celtic Juniors, managed by Jeanette, celebrated their first ever trophy win!

The under 11s welcomed Hoops Vixens, Ashton Pumas, Corpus ROCs, Denton Youth and Tameside Girls. In two hard fought groups, Celtic Blues, Celtic Whites, Pumas and Hoops progressed to the semi finals. Both Celtic teams were narrowly beaten in the semi finals after giving it their absolute best. Hoops Vixens won the final against Ashton Pumas to take the trophy home.

The inaugural tournament was a big success. Thanks to everyone who attended. All the players, coaches and parents did the girls game proud. Huge thanks to the volunteers from Stalybridge Celtic Juniors who made the tournament happen, both in planning and on the day.
