Walking football is back!!
Saturday 13 July will see the third annual Walking Football Festival hosted by Stalybridge Celtic Juniors at the Soccer School on Mossley Rd. The action kicks off at 3pm.
Eat BBQ and Indian street food, be merry and watch a bunch of (mostly) idiots trying desperately not to run whilst chasing a ball.
Walking football creates a level playing field for everyone taking part. Players of all ages from 18 to 80, male and female, and all fitness levels will battle it out in the twelve team tournament. Teams are made up of Celtic Juniors volunteers, friends of the club and a couple of guest teams from further afield.
The festival also supports local charity Cancer Warriors. Cancer Warriors offer support and information at drop-in sessions and at their centre in Stalybridge town centre.
