Celtic Juniors U11s Pay Respects to One of Their Biggest Supporters

Stalybridge Celtic Juniors under 11s paid their respects to one of their biggest supporters at their first training session since lockdown.

Sadly, one of the team members lost his grandad recently and as a mark of respect, the boys impeccably observed a minute silence at their first training session, joined by the coaches and the parents including club chairman, Mike Taylor.

John was a regular attendee at matches to watch his grandson, Rufus, and support the team and often turned up at training to watch. Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the family following the devastating news of his passing. Some of the team members lined up along the street as the funeral cortege passed on the way to the funeral service, in their match kits to pay their respects and ensure John has a great send off.

The boys plan to wear black arm bands at their first match back as a mark of respect to John and the family. R.I.P John, we are sure he will continue to support his grandson and the team looking down from above.
