Celtic Juniors Clock Up 540 Miles In Lockdown Challenge

Six weeks ago the players at Stalybridge Celtic Juniors were set the task of completing their daily exercise and sending in the miles they covered either walking, running or cycling. The initial target was to cover the 200 mile distance from Stalybridge to Wembley.

Players from across the clubs teams, from the youngest to the oldest, got out on their bikes, put their trainers on and put their walking boots on and sent in their efforts every day. One month since launching the challenge and the 200 mile challenge to Wembley was achieved. The next target was set at a further 265 miles to the Johan Cruyff Arena, Amsterdam, home to European heavyweights Ajax.

The return to school on 8 March brought the challenge to an end and in total the boys ang girls of Celtic Juniors covered a whopping 540 miles. We couldn’t be prouder of all the players who took part, getting outside in all weathers, sometimes freezing cold and even snowy conditions to get their miles in. Well done everyone!
