It was a fantastic day in perfect weather for the Stalybridge Celtic Juniors Under 7s on Saturday. We took two teams, the Blues and the Whites, to our first tournament.
Over 5 games the Blues won two and drew one, while the Whites won one and drew one. There were a few competitive losses for both teams. The under 7s formed a few weeks ago at the Soccer School, many of the players have been with Celtic Juniors from reception age and have been learning their skills at the Soccer Saturday mornings.
At this age group it is of course all about the experience, learning and most importantly having fun. We’ve made some fantastic progress over the last 4 or 5 weeks and I’m sure we’ll be making further strides as the season continues. We can’t wait to make our EMJFL debut later this month.
Congratulations to Hollingworth Juniors for a really well organised event. Thanks to the parents for their commitment to the team. And huge thanks to Zack and Will for stepping up as volunteer coaches and Matt for all his help off the field.
