We’ve partnered with Stalybridge & Dukinfield Rotary Club and their Wrap Up Tameside Campaign to get winter coats to those who struggle to keep warm. The Soccer School will be a donation hub every Saturday morning during October.
The campaign, which is part of a wider Wrap Up UK initiative organised by Rotary, is an annual campaign which seeks the donation of winter coats (children’s, women’s and men’s coats) to help those who struggle to keep warm in our communities during the winter months.
Last year the campaign received nearly 400 winter coats with over 300 women’s and children’s coats donated to Tameside Women’s Centre (which supports over 700 families across the borough) as well as a further 80 men’s coats donated to local homeless charities.
Stalybridge Celtic Juniors Soccer School on Mossley Road will act as a drop-off point every Saturday morning during October to donate any unwanted coats. We will also accept winter scarves, gloves and hats as these are also appreciated.

More about the Wrap Up UK Campaign
Thick warm winter coats donated to Wrap Up are collected by volunteers and each garment is inspected to ensure it is clean and in a good condition to be given away.
Their motto of “Is this coat good enough for you to wear” ensures that only good quality coats are distributed to the charitable organisations. The collected coats are distributed via homeless shelters, refugee centres, organisations supporting the elderly, women’s refuges, children’s centres and other charities helping people in crisis.
We do not give coats direct to families, because we firmly believe that the charitable organisations can identify support and resources to benefit those in need or signpost them to organisations that could help, thereby creating a lasting relationship between those in need and the organisation that could transform their lives.
Other collection points in Tameside are Stalyhill Junior School, Lower Mossley Sub Post Office and Ashton-Under-Lyne Golf Club.
