Christmas Foodbank Collection

Stalybridge Celtic Juniors launch Christmas foodbank appeal to support local families in need.

Throughout November the Soccer School will act as a drop-off point for donations which will be passed onto Barty’s Foodbank in Stalybridge. They will then be shared with families most in need in the local area.

Items required are tinned and dry goods such as UHT milk, breakfast cereal, tinned potatoes, hot dogs, pasta, sauces, gravy granules, tinned vegetables, noodles, rice, tea, coffee, juice, rice pudding, biscuits, custard, mince pies and Christmas puddings.

Celtic Juniors Chairman Mike Taylor said “Last year’s appeal did really well and we saw hundreds of donations from people connected to Celtic Juniors past and present. Barty’s is a well-established foodbank who help people in our local area who are most in need. We pride ourselves as a club on being a cornerstone of the community so we are happy to help, especially in the run up to Christmas and the economic challenges being faced by so many people.”

Donations can be dropped off any Saturday during November at the Soccer School on Mossley Road between 9am and 1pm.
